Market Vendors

Every Winter Farmersí Markets and Meals for Hope features hard-working farmers and producers from the greater Madison and Milwaukee areas. Our vendors are committed to selling quality goods and produce at every market. Products include bakery items, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, honey, preserves, maple syrup, specialty chocolates, soaps, and more!

Our goal is to support our local farmers and businesses by providing a venue for increased sales in the hard winter months. All our vendors grow or manufacture their products themselves, whether using ingredients grown on their farm or from local sources.

Echo Valley Farm is a forty-acre rustic learning center in southwestern Wisconsin, nestled in the Kickapoo River Valley. The farm includes a heritage apple orchard that boosts a fine selection of heirloom varieties not found in the grocery stores.  The apples are combined to make delicious cider, apple butter and apple bake goods.  Echo Valley Farm’s learning center also hosts a variety of free sustainable farming, gardening, cooking, wellness and weaving classes. Emancipation Acres is a 40 acre farm that has been certified Animal Welfare Approved for laying hens and sheep since September 2012. The farm is owned and operated by Erica and Joel, where they breed Shetland sheep, heritage breed chickens, heritage breed ducks, Angora rabbits and geese. They also use local ingredients to produce delightful soaps. They use essential oils for scent and add color with natural plant material, herbal additives, and clays.

Family Farm Defenders is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to create a farmer-controlled and consumer-oriented food and fiber system, based upon democratically controlled institutions that empower farmers to speak for and respect themselves in their quest for social and economic justice. They sell products from local businesses in support of sustainable agriculture, farm worker rights, animal welfare, consumer safety, fair trade, and food sovereignty.

Lonesome Stone is your source for local organic stone-ground grain products. They work with family farms in Wisconsin's Driftless region. Each package names the farmer who grew the grain. They locally clean, mill and package stone-ground whole wheat flour, pancake mix, cornmeal, corn bread mix and other products that are healthy and flavorful. They are certified organic by MOSA.

Nature's Bakery Cooperative has been worker-owned and operated since 1970, and consists of 8 worker-owners who together fully run the business. We offer a variety of delicious and healthy vegetarian and vegan products including sliced bread, granola, veggie burgers, calzones, essene bread, wheat-free flat bread, and cookies.  The products are made with organic whole grains, and other organic and non-gmo ingredients.  All of our products are made from scratch and by hand, on site, by us.

You can also find Nature’s Bakery at the Wil-Mar farmers’ market in Madison. Most products are available every day at the storefront.  Fresh bread is available on Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons (after 2:30) and Friday afternoons.

All of Mom's soaps are a generous 4.5-5.5 ounces of lathering bliss.  No two will be identical.  Each bar is hand cut, hand wrapped, and hand boxed. Most customers find Mom's products to be more gentle than a comparable commercial brand, as there is NO, zero, premade bases in any of it.

Sugar River Dairy is a Grade A, family-owned/operated producer of small-batch yogurt
that uses all WI milk. The rBST-free milk cows are humanely treated and outside daily. The yogurt contains no additives, stabilizers or high fructose corn syrup. It is non-homogenized, hormone and preservatives free. It is fresh, locally produced yogurt; the way yogurt is supposed to be.
